The 2025 Nutcracker Summer Intensive Information

Schedule:

This intensive is open to all dancers 7yrs and older. Each dancer will be separated into classes based on age and level. The intensive schedule will run July 7 – 24, Monday through Thursday 8:00am – 4:00pm.

8:00am - Dancers will arrive and prepare for their classes to begin.

8:15am - 12:00pm -  Class time. We will start every morning with a full ballet class with technique and skill building, as well as, a secondary class such as contemporary, stretch, Leaps & Turns, etc.

12:00 - 4:00pm - Rehearsal time.

With this schedule, individual dancers will not be dancing non-stop throughout the day. Rehearsals will be staggered so that everyone will have breaks and time for lunch and snacks.

Being that our space is limited, and dancers will need the whole of the facility, there will be no parent observation during intensive hours.

If a dancer finishes all of their rehearsals before 4pm they will be able to leave early, but they must be signed out. Every morning attendance will be taken by an instructor. A sign-out sheet will be on the front desk. When picking up your child please come in and sign them out. We cannot guarantee that we will have someone to walk children to cars, so for safety reasons all dancers will be kept inside until they are signed out.

After the intensive, we will have monthly rehearsals so that the show stays fresh in our minds as we await our performances.

Casting:

The first Monday of the intensive will be our audition day. After classes, we will stage a full audition process, and finalize casting. The full cast list will be emailed to all dancers Monday evening.

Costs:

There will be a non-refundable $25 registration fee due July 1st. The three week intensive is $350 per dancer due no later than July 4th. The price of your tuition includes all classes and a cast T-shirt. Dancers will not pay for costumes, as those will be provided by the Yadanza Ballet.

Dress Code:

Leotard, tights, and ballet slippers are encouraged, but not mandatory. I like to be a little more relaxed in the summer. However, I do ask that everyone keep in mind that this is a Ballet intensive so please do not come to class wearing something that would hinder your movement or with your hair in your face, and please make sure you have appropriate footwear, ei. Ballet slippers, jazz shoes, pointe shoes.

All costumes will be provided by the Yadanza Ballet. We have an inventory that I will be going through, cataloging, sizing, and assigning. Some new costumes will also be ordered as needed.

Performances:

Performances are currently being scheduled. As of right now I expect us to have 6 performances. Three evening shows and three matinees. Please see below for tentative dates of performances.
